Convenient Amnesia

I've been using Yahoo Mail for years and suddenly I can no longer choose to show quotes for the original message in a reply - the default behavior now is for the original message to show at the bottom of the screen and I can't find a setting to change it. Contacted YahooCare through Twitter and they responded "Yup, sounds like normal behavior." Seems to me like the equivalent of "We have always been at war with Eurasia."
