I am not sold on Billy Porter's white socks, but the rest of his ensemble takes and owns the night as far as I'm concerned. Wow, wow, wow, and wow.
The orange trailing belt only saved Constance Wu's skirt; her top is clearly missing, leaving us to stare at her structured, flesh'n'transparent longline bra. Count me among the so not sold.
Liked Darren Criss' jacket just fine, loved everything about Idris Elba's look, and was also quite happy looking at Mahershala Ali thanks to the scarf.
Nailed it: Debra Messing's "Bigfoot-pelt mess."

Ditto that for Looks like Joanna Newsom got her dress from the Slutty Upper Class Waitress collection." This one actually tops my Worst of the Night list from the generous collection of gowns you included. Janelle Monae's outfit was certainly...odd...but she looks so composed in it that I don't shudder looking at the photo. Instead, I keep looking at the various components and wonder if it would be less disjointed if the white fabric were a different, less contrasting color. Though the sleeves ending in fingerless gloves is totally 4th grade art contest!
