(no subject)

I suppose it's no surprise that I'm coming down with a cold, given that I left chilly weather, had two days of hot weather, then had two days of cold, including standing in arctic blasts at the cricket. Have had a couple of nice lazy days, going out to lunch with Julian Warner and Lucy Sussex and a fannish dinner last night with visiting TAFF guy Randy Byers, out here visiting his Queensland girlfriend, and some other fans, including Bruce Gillespie, who will be coming out to the US in February thanks to a special fund. We also saw The Incredibles, lots of fun. (Although one of the character jokes was lost on my two companions, who are too young to remember Edith Head *sigh*)

The phone situation has been solved thanks to a friend of Stephen's who has lent me his backup phone. It still seems like magic to me that I could insert the SIM from the dead phone and voila! There were all the numbers I had stored in the other phone.

So far, I've had some of the local treats I planned to cover (like flavoured pretzels and apple/pear juice) but still have barramundi and lamingtons to look forward to. Hope you are all enjoying festive treats this time of year too!
