Realized I haven't written here in a bit: Stephen arrived safely and has been buried away in meetings yesterday and today, conveniently in the building next to mine on campus. All that changes tomorrow, when they meet at another site.

We've been eating pretty well (and on someone else's expense account): Sunday night I took them to the over-the-top family-style Italian chain restaurant Buca de Beppo, which I figured would be an experience they couldn't get in Australia :-> (For those of you as curious as we were, no, they haven't replaced the wooden head in the Pope room yet.) Last night, we ate at Wolfgang Puck's Spago. The food was good, as you might expect, but the service, while not bad, was not as impeccable as I would have expected from its reputation. Best part of my meal was dessert: baked-to-order lighter-than-air baby churros with a cup of fudge sauce for dipping. Yummmm.
