Watching Wednesday night baseball live on ESPN at 10 am local time on Thursday morning is a bit disconcerting, I have to admit!

Had a lazy day shopping yesterday and miraculously found navy shoes without laces that fit with my orthotics. Only fellow female orthotics wearers will appreciate what a coup this is. I am *so tired* of ugly shoes and never being able to wear sandals again.

Last night I went to the monthly Nova Mob science fiction meeting, which was fun. Started off with an overview of the guests appearing at the upcoming Continuum convention in Melbourne. Then the discussion segued into the Hugo nominees. I was appealed to several times by moderators Justin Ackroyd and [livejournal.com profile] mondboy for predictions and WSFS political information, which felt a bit awkward but I hope I didn't monopolize the discussion too much. It was odd to be considered the worldcon oracle and I hope everyone realized that I was only speaking from my own perspective. I was pleased at how many people there I recognized. (Bruce Gillespie saw me across the room and said "What are you doing here? It's not December!")

Today was spent doing laundry preparatory to packing and reading the short fiction Hugo nominees so I can sneak my ballot in under the wire. Hard to believe my trip is almost over - I leave Sunday morning.
