Excellent Primo Good News!
Sep. 23rd, 2005 09:12 amMy wonderful manager called me on my cellphone last night from *his* cellphone on the way to the opera to tell me that he'd just gotten off the phone with an HR person from our Australia office. Apparently, although she knew that people were working on some sort of new policy, she had not yet seen it and it evidently hasn't gone into effect yet. Therefore, she says we should just treat this as a regular transfer, meaning that all we need is a department number through their payroll so my department can pay me there.
Not only does this mean that (assuming we haven't lost our existing payroll number there) I probably get to keep my job, but as an official transfer, it also means that they might sponsor me for a business visa. Evidently businesses are limited to only 20 slots a year but she is looking into whether they have some left.
YAY!!!!
To top off the day, while I was getting the rest of the details from my boss this morning, he told me that we're getting raises this year, first time in years, so I will have nearly 3% more money as of October 1.
Definitely party time this weekend :->
