The Deed Is Done!
Dec. 11th, 2005 01:25 pmOn considering various options, Stephen and I decided that the best time/place to get married was in San Diego, where he would be attending a computer conference. He really hates being the center of attention and was adamantly opposed to any kind of wedding event. He didn't care whether any of his relatives were at a wedding ceremony but I kind of wanted my brother to be there, and a San Diego location meant that he could drive down from LA on the Tuesday before the conference started and stay overnight. Then, while Stephen was attending the conference, we could hang out on Wednesday. However, some of my carefully laid plans went bang *sigh* ( Chaos details )
The courthouse paperwork took no time at all and we were very lucky in the "deputy marriage commissioner" to whom we were assigned: she was cheerful without being too chirpy and the ceremony was serious without being excessively solemn or cloying. My brother took a video of the brief ceremony, and then added a score! He also took a few photos, which you can view as a slideshow.
