New Years Greetings!
Dec. 31st, 2005 04:34 pmHappy new year! (Be sure to click through)
We went to a friend's house for New Years Eve. It was supposed to be a barbeque but given the high temperatures there was a fire ban for the entire state and we weren't sure how he would cope. Easily, it turned out, by moving his electric grill outside, balancing it on the gas grill, and attaching an extension cord out the kitchen window. (Being forewarned, I brought some smoked salmon sandwiches with me.) Wish he'd left it inside, actually, given that by the end of the night I was eaten alive by "mozzies" (mosquitoes). Total damage is about four bites on each of my sides, two on my back, two on one arm. two on one ankle, and a really lovely obtrusive one on my collarbone. *itch*
We're off to Stephen's crowd's annual Bad Movie Day, although we're splitting it this year with only one bad film (Chicken Little in 3D) because most of us haven't seen King Kong yet. Stephen is looking forward most of all to the air conditioning, I think: he had a bad night although I didn't find it all that oppressively hot. I told him he'd get his own back in the winter...
