College Football Roundup
Nov. 5th, 2006 03:27 pmFlorida again escapes with a win, beating Vanderbilt by a too-close 25 - 16. Had two or three plays gone the other way, Vanderbilt could have won this game. Nearly all season, the Gators have been great in the first half and then let the other team back into the game at the second half. I sincerely hope we figure out how to play a full 4 quarters before the end of the season.
Speaking of which, sorry
mkillingworth but I have to thank LSU for beating Tennessee and ensuring that UF will play in the SEC championship game!
Congratulations to
marykaykare on Oklahoma's win over Texas A&M. I wouldn't be surprised if Aggieland burns Franchione in effigy. On one hand, they played Okalahoma close. OTOH, why in the world did he kick a field goal with 4th and goal at the Oklahoma 2 yard line with only about 7 minutes left and the score 17-10? A field goal didn't do them much good and sure enough, Oklahoma had all of its timeouts left and used them, game-delay penalties, and a successful 4th-and-1 so the Aggies didn't have enough time left to do anything. *sigh*
In other news, for a while there it looked like both Ohio State and Michigan might be upset but they both dodged the bullet. I'm sure that whichever network is carrying their matchup later in the season (and the BCS board) breathed sighs of relief.
