Work is slow so I had a lot of time to compile this review of the Tony Awards red carpet

Needs More Rehearsal

Love this color on Somi Kakoma but the dress needed a lot more structure and mammary support, plus not fond of the distracting gold slippers.

I first saw a shot of this dress on Ekin-Su Cüllcüloǧlu from the waist up and was very disappointed when I found a full-length shot and saw it went transparent and ruined the star effect.

Great color, great fit, interesting design on Nicole Scherzinger... until the giant powder puff at the bottom - why?

The gold tone is great on Danai Gurkha but even if the fabric is wrinkled on purpose it’s still distracting. And I’m all for interesting hairdos but not when they make you look like a Teletubby.

Ashley Park's girls are being squashed into this otherwise interesting dominatrix outfit.

The construction is amazing on Amber Iman but I think they took mermaid style a little too far - plus didn't know mermaids had outie belly buttons.

Nice sparkly number on Cynthia Erivo but the bodice doesn't flatter her small bust. Also, although I am always complaining about women not wearing necklaces or jewelry, in this case I thought the diamond necklace and bracelet came off as too white to work well with the gold tone of the dress.

The fit on winner Maleah Joi Moon (Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical) is fabulous and love the material and train but the gloves make them look like Mystique and I don't understand the black-bra bodice and purse.

Leading Men

Winner Jeremy Strong (Lead Actor-Play) channels Beau Maverick.

Even besides the eye-watering plaid, unclear why Carter Kench is wearing a scarf tied around his neck that doesn't match his suit or its style - is this a scarf from a distant partner to remember them by?

Sky Lakota Lynch looks like a bellboy at a theme resort. Surely there are better ways to incorporate native designs in a suit.

Winner Daniel Radcliffe (Featured Actor - Musical) is definitely a winter: lavender is his color.

Enver Chakartash looks like he's running out of toner.

This is relatively understated on Billy Porter, the winner of the Isabelle Stevenson Humanitarian Award, which he dedicated to his mother.

Producer Jordan Roth draped in no-seam transparent patterned black material, and those are real leaves painted black in his hair. (And yes, I checked, he uses he/him.)

Favorite Guy: Really interesting integration of the tie with the floral design on Paul Tazewell’s suit jacket.

Villains

Kela Walker looks like a colorful virus.

Tamara Tunie clearly went online shopping at the relaunched Frederick's of Hollywood.

Alyah Chanelle-Scott looks like she's trying on her mommy's wedding dress: this just hangs on her and the waist is in the wrong place.

Kept waiting for LaTanya Richardson to throw off her bathrobe and reveal her actual dress for the event. The messy hair just added to the impression.

Nice embroidery on Ingrid Michaelson but that's all the positives I have: if you're going to pay for those bazooms, not sure why you'd put them in such an unflattering bodice and old-fashioned prom dress. And if you're going to wear a necklace, wear a necklace.

Idina Menzel wearing an op art eye test.

Looks like they forgot the lining on the bodice on winner Kara Young (Featured Actress – Play) - it's not even sexy, just distracting.

Camille Brown poses for an ad for clothing made out of your pet's fur.

Nice to see some color but there's a little too much embellishment on Alicia Simms (why is one of the giant roses so close to the hem?) and why does her hair look like a movie camera?

Lila Neugebauer in an ill-fitting dress with possibly one of the worst-constructed bodices I've ever seen.

Worst of the Night: Too-bright yellow and bad fit on Brooke Shields... what tipped it into the winner were the matching Crocs!

Heroes

Renee Elise Goldsberry in flattering off-the-shoulder lace.

The tonal shift on this gown on Alicia Keys works, as does the skinny belt. (I must admit the bodice looks like it’s squashing the girls a bit.)

I have surprised myself by actually liking this hot pink two-dresses-in-one number on Kelli O'Hara - maybe it's the pockets.

Audra McDonald in a classy black shiny off-the-shoulder number (but why white shoes?!?)

I’m not usually fond of pale dresses on blondes but I think this feminine ruffled number with matching shoes works on Julianne Hough (and yay, a necklace!)

Taraji P. Henson in well-fitted shiny metallic gold-and-silver seashells - I especially like the edging on the bodice.

Best of the Night Because Clever: Ariana DeBose in Oscar de la Renta: "Inspired by Tiffany windows, her pastel frock was adorned with individually dyed acrylic paillettes." Check out this Instagram reel for the full effect.

You're knocking it out of the ballpark. I'm only 4 entries in and am in utter admiration of how completely spot on your observations and judgments are. LOL at the end of "The gold tone is great on Danai Gurkha but even if the fabric is wrinkled on purpose it’s still distracting. And I’m all for interesting hairdos but not when they make you look like a Teletubby."

"Lila Neuberger in an ill-fitting dress with possibly one of the worst-constructed bodices I've ever seen." -- even forewarned, my jaw dropped at that bodice. OMG. I keep hoping it's just the camera angle, but *what* is going on with the fabric that should be over her right breast?
