Impending Doom
Jul. 25th, 2005 09:29 amHow quickly they forget: about two years ago I had a distressing flea invasion despite having no pets. I was bitten unmercifully on the legs and waist for a while, vacuuming not being effective, and finally bug-bombed the place although I hate the idea of poisonous chemicals. But memories of that all faded away to the point that Sunday morning before it got too hot, I heroically swept up about a year's worth of leaves from my deck. Did I think about flea hitchhikers? Nope. Then this morning, I absently scratched my ankle, looked closer, and found I had two flea bites near one ankle and one near the other. *aaarrrggghhhh*
Now I'm convinced that as I type, fleas are busily breeding in my berber carpet where I can't see them and that I'm going to have to go through the whole ugly, paranoid, poisonous experience again, a victim of inexorable fate. *sigh*
