And, my annual rant about acceptance speeches with a twist: If an award is won by more than one person, everyone should get equal time. However, if you are one of two people who win and you've already seen an earlier pair accept and the second person was cut off because the first person took so long, you should shorten your own speech instead of leaving your partner hanging. And under no circumstance should you cut off the speech of the Best Picture winners, the last moment of the show!

This report is not exhaustive, by any means: some gowns didn't make that much of an impression one way or another. (And commenting on outfits worn by Dolly Parton, Judi Dench, and Meryl Streep is too much like shooting fish in a barrel.)

Most interesting and practical fashion trend: both Sandra Bullock and Amy Adams had pockets in their gowns!
