Whew!

My business-class upgrade on points just came through for my flight to LA on Sunday. And there was even one non-bulkhead, non-near-the-galley window seat still available upstairs so I get my beloved seat-side locker, the one advantage of not flying with Stephen (the curve of the upstairs roof makes him claustrophobic).

Now I just have to make sure I bring all the details for my five domestic flights, five rental cars, and five hotels. (Plus hostess gifts for the two different sets of friends I'm staying with, of course.) And figure out what to bring for weather ranging from a probable 50F at night in the Bay Area to a high of 80F in Florida. (Outerwear: Big raincoat? Non-hooded Lands End fleece jacket? Light rain jacket? Shoes: Open-toed shoes for heat? Casual closed-toed shoes in case of rain? Nice-but-walkable shoes for various synagogues? Dress shoes for the bar mitzvah cocktail reception?) And polish up my presentation and the 32 pages worth of examples that accompany it.

And can't forget to pack the neck collar, which I don't need any more but which is the only visible way to indicate that I'm not asking someone to get my big suitcase off the luggage belt or into the rental car trunk because I'm a helpless female...

wow, that's a lot of planning to juggle! Good luck with all that. And yay for being here when Obama wins on Tuesday night! :-)
